MUDSENS
• Ultrasonic probe • Level monitoring of sludge in sedimentation tanks • Advanced algorithm • Output 4-20 mA: representative of sludge level • Cleaning with compressed air • User-friendly menu
MUDSENS monitors level of sludge in sedimentation basin, up to 12 m deep.
The ultrasonic detection combined with the advanced algorithm, allows detection of interface water/sludge. Thus, it is not impacted by solid particles in suspension as well as any other disturbances such as noise or electrical interferences.
Installation: The ultrasonic probe is immersed just below the surface of water pointing directly towards the bottom of the basin. On the monitor, a simple keyboard consisting of 3 buttons is used by the operator to specify the depth of the basin. Then, the sensor automatically adjusts its signal to detect the sludge/water interface and delivers a 4-20 mA signal proportional to the sludge level.
Maintenance: During operations, the signal strength may vary due to various factors such as the presence of solid particles that accumulate on the sensor. To minimize this phenomenon, an air injection system can be connected to remove particles and reduce maintenance operations. The control of the air injection system is supported by the monitor.
Its user-friendly menu allows the operator to set a sensor fault alarm and detection of a high level of sedimentation.
