Level measurement in open channel Venturi or weir.
DESCRIPTION
Open-channel measurement requires highly accurate level measurement, as the relationship between level and flow is exponential. This measurement system combines an air generator with a highly accurate pressure sensor. On the air circuit, a sensor measures the pressure required for the effective release of air bubbles. The pressure measured is then equal to the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column at the air discharge point.
To minimize measurement error due to air flow variations between high and low levels, the injection pump features a microvalve. The “0” and full scale settings are accessible to the user. The level can then be transmitted as a 4-20 mA signal.
The BAMOBUL level sensor consists of an IP 55 wall-mounted enclosure housing the pressure sensor, power electronics and air generator. Pneumatic connections are provided by instant fittings for Ø 6x4 rilsan tubing between the housing and the injection pipe. Electrical connections are made via a screw terminal block in a weatherproof enclosure. The 316 L stainless steel injection pipe features a sliding adjustment device. It is secured by a stainless steel plate to be fixed to the channel.
